August:  Hectic Winter

Winter always brings a season of Variety and this year has been no different from shooting concerts & conferences to a couple of weddings up in the High Country and even a corporate job for one of Canberra's Leading hair Stylists. We are continuing to move to an all file based filming system but we'll be holding on to some tape for a while especially for longer forn events such as conferences. We've again invested in new equipment, particularly on the editing site and this will becoming on line over the next few months. Finally we finally signed up on.....Facebook so take a look for us and say Hi!

10/06/11 Season's End

With our last Canberra Wedding for this 'season' next Saturday we'd like to thank all our clients from the last 12 months. We've filmed in some wonderful locations and met with some amazing people, sharing their stories and emotions,  all of which makes this job we do one of the most rewarding jobs anyone can do. We've also been lucky enough to work with some incredible fellow professionals in the Industry such as the Guys from Paper Cranes in Sydney and Abe at Untitled Film Works also in  Sydney. Thanks Guys, it was much appreciated.  The coming Winter sees us undertaking a higher number of jobs than usual up in the Snowfields, a total contrast from the sweltering heat of Canberra in Summer and the snow is very promising we hear so we're looking forward to that. We're back for the new Canberra Season in late August and looking forward to working with all our clients over the next 12 months.

15/05/11 A day at the Fair

We spent the day at The Canberra Wedding Fair and it was a hectic 6 hours but very enjoyable and a big "Hi" to everyone we chatted to. We received many comments about the videos on show - much appreciated and we hope to get back to everyone who asked for more details within the next couple of days and we look forward to meeting those of who who asked to meet us in the next couple of weeks.

09/05/11

A hectic weekend saw us filming from 9am until 2am the following Sunday morning and then backing up for a small backyard wedding on the Sunday Afternoon but we have a filming free weekend next week with the Bridal Fair at the Australian Institute of Sport commanding our attention. Very much looking forward to this with the opportunity to meet industry colleagues and friends informally away from the rush of the Wedding day and of course to meet our wonderful clients. We are on stand #17 near the entrance so please feel free to drop by and say Hi.

10/04/11

After an early year where we hit the road we've been in and around Canberra in the last few weeks with weddings at St Christophers, Gold Creek Chapel, Sacred Heart, St Johns and Commonwealth Park. The St Johns wedding was our first there since the demise of the "Tree Avenue" but the up side is that there are now some spectacular shots of the Church available. Our DSLR coverage is also proving increasingly popular and we'll have some films shot this way on show at the upcoming AIS Wedding Fair on May 15.  We hope it will be as succesful as last year so feel free to stop by for a chat if you attend.

02/03/11 Travels

We've been lucky enough to film at some amazing venues in the last few weeks with Redbrow Gardens just outside Murrumbateman being our pick of recent locations, a ceremony by the lake, late afternoon sunshine through the trees and a perfect late Summer's day made it a standout.

We also filmed up at Historic Riversdale Homestead outside Goulburn, filming that was enlivened by the scurrying of a rather large Rat as we filmed the Bridal party inside one of the rooms after the ceremony,  cool as a cucumber the Groom asked if we caught it on video :)

27/01/11 Email Problems

A hectic start to the year with trips to the coast which coincided with possibly the worst thunderstorm we've ever been caught filming in, dramatic backdrops with dark satanic clouds are all well and good until the clouds open :)

Apologies to anyone who has emailed us and didnt receive a reply. The mail server was down for 3 days and while we did get a couple of emails through, albeit late, if anyone did email us and hasn't had a reply please do contact us again or leave us a message on Facebook

03/01/11 New Year Dawns

Most people celebrate New Year with fireworks but at Everclear we get up at 4am to film the first Sunrise of the Year :).  We had a very special wedding to film on New Years day for Angela & Richard and were lucky enough to be working with the immensely talented Andrew Sikorski from Art Atelier  and the new Operators at Gold Creek Chapel. The sunrise was just part of the theme of 'New Years Day' that features so much in Angela & Richard's relationship to date and was just part of the Service we offer our couples to help tell your story and capture the essence of your day.

For all our 2011 clients we look forward to working with you and we wish you all the very best both in the lead up to your wedding and for the day itself.

23/12/10 End of Year

It hardly seems as if we've drawn breath in 2010 and yet it's already December. We'd line to wish all our 2010 Clients all the very best for the future and a Merry Chritmas to them and to industry Colleagues. It's been an amazing year in a number of ways and by far our most succesful year to date both commercially and creatively and a big thank you to everyone we've worked with in the last 12 months.

21/11/10 A sunny day - at last

After the wettest Spring we can ever remember we finally had some good weather on back to back weekends, the big yellow thing in the sky got some getting used to but we did so and we even got to use a ND filter! We've had some wonderful locations to film at this Spring including the amazing Ginninderra Homestead and the Eling Forest Winery up in the Southern Highlands.  We've been lucky enough to have tasted some wonderful food at various reception locations over the years notably at The Boathouse but the Chef at Eling Forest is on another level altogether, Highly recommended if food is an important part of your Reception planning.

While Movember has nearly run its course there are still a couple of weeks left and we'd ask anyone to send a donation via the official site at http://au.movember.com to the MOvie makers group, several colleagues in Sydney are participating with results ranging from little more than a hairy caterpillar to the full grown 'Chopper Reed' look. :) It's for a worthwhile cause so please make a donation.

10/10/10   38 in 72

We had an amazing weekend last weekend working 38 hrs in 3 days  and even missing the NRL Grand Final for a small job on the Sunday but as always, loving what we do.

We started early on the Saturday filming the intimate wedding of one of the nicest couples we've met in a long time, Maria & John,  at the Boathouse. I've got to say the Boathouse goes from strength to strength, the management have really got their act together, the place looked fabulous and the food, as always, sensational.  John and Maria had a very emotional and delightful wedding which finished at 4pm  and we were then invited to assist the amazing Abraham Joffe and his cameraman Gabor who came down from Sydney to film one of Canberra's most glittering weddings as Viktoria and Tristan celebrated at the National Portrait Gallery. It was a wonderful opportunity to work with arguably Australia's finest wedding Film Makers. Many thanks guys and much appreciated. After a small job on the Sunday we then picked up Santo and Ferry,  the inspirational Guys from Paper Cranes at the airport early on the Monday,  filming with them on their Canon 5ds as they shot and prepared one of their award winning same day edits for showing at the Reception of Greg & Fiona down at Lake George Winery. You can see the final product at http://www.vimeo.com/15559421 and when shown at the reception this Same Day Edit brought the House down. Santo and Ferry are two very very talented producers and the chance to work with them was again very much appreciated.

10/09/10 Butterflies

It's a fact that with the advent of every new wedding season we still get nerves about what we'll be doing over the next few months. Having said that ,the day we get complacent is the day to pack this business in I guess. Winter went by in a  blur with corporate and defence work to keep us busy but the wedding season is a big part and very enjoyable part of what we do and the new season promises to be an exciting one, weve already done some early season work with Steven Murray from Creative image, undoubtedly one of the top photographers in Canberra and we'll be working with arguably the top 2 wedding film makers in Australia in the next couple of weeks, firstly with Abraham Joffe from www.abrahamjoffe.com.au/  and then we've been asked to work with Santo from Paper Cranes   while they are on assignment down here in Canberra  It should be an incredibly rewarding couple of weeks. Put it this way - Abraham and Santo will walk away with the majority of wedding video awards at the AVPA awards night in November. :)

To all our couples we are working with this season we wish you all the very best on your wedding day and can truly say it's a pleasure to have been chosen by you. Speak to you all soon and the very best of luck with your planning.

10/07/10 End of Season

We finally closed the books on this year's wedding season, a very rewarding season in which we had the pleasure of meeting some great clients and working with some wonderful fellow professionals. Next season kicks off in a few weeks and with new cameras and new editing software we'll be looking forward to it. We also have the opportunity to shoot with the amazing Abraham Joffe from Sydney this coming season and we've a couple of projects on the boil with various local photographers etc so it promises to be an interesting season.

To round the season off is a pic from one of our favourite moments earlier this season when we were filming at Gold Creek Chapel in the evening, Many thanks to Michael and Lyn for allowing us to use the Chapel in the evening.

16/05/10 A sensational day

Not only did we get the good news about Samantha today (see below) but we had a fabulous day at the Canberra Wedding Fair. It's the first Fair we've done in the last 10 years but it was immensely enjoyable. I heard there were over 1500 people attended and I know we moved over 600 brochures and took more than a few enquiries. We met some wonderful people and had some great conversations during the day and so a big thank you to everyone we met.

We were also asked to produce a video of the Fair to be used for  promotional purposes by the Organisers - a few people have asked to see it so here it is :)

16/05/10 A Bride of the Year

A HUGE Congraulations to Samantha on her Award as True Bride "Bride of The Year 2009" officially to be announced in the next few days on True Bride  We filmed Sam and Trent back in February 2009 at the Goolabri resort just outside Canberra and even then we knew there was something special about the day - one of those days when everything came together perfectly and we were delighted to get word that she'd won while we were exhibiting at the AIS Wedding Fair.

30/04/10 All set for the Wedding fair

Everthing's looking good for the Wedding Fair at the AIS on 16th May. We sat down for a chat with the organisers last week and as always we've been impressed with what they have planned, We really do see this Fair as the definitive Wedding fair for the Canberra Area, We've seen a list of the exhibitors and there are many, like ourselves, who dont normally attend Wedding Fairs because they get plenty of business from referrals but who nonetheless are exhibiting here. It promises to be a terrific day so please feel free to drop by and say "Hi".

29/03/10 Bride of the Year

We were lucky enough to be chosen to film Samantha when she got married out at Goolabri back in early 2009 and we are so pleased to hear she has made the finals for the 2009 Bride of the Year.  If anyone can spare 2 minutes to vote for her it would be really appreciated and how cool would it be to have a local girl as the Bride of the Year?

Voting now closed - thanks to everyone who made the time to vote

Congrats to Sam and Trent on the birth of their first child as well - Lily, born on the 14th March 2010. Well done guys : )

21/03/10 End of an era

It's been talked about for a number of years but it finally looks like one of the most familiar landscapes on Canberra's wedding scene is about to vanish - I refer to the avenue of trees at St Johns in Reid. We've shot some fabulous scenes there over the past 14 years but it looks as if they are finally going. More details on St John's Website.

26/02/10 Serena & Liang

I had the pleasure of filming Serena and Liang while up in Sydney (see below) just prior to their wedding. They've moved to Canberra now after their wedding so welcome to Canberra guys : ) This is the 'same day edit' done for them by the Stillmotion crew on their wedding day.

A thought provoking  week with some truly creative and inspirational people.

27/01/10  Sydney Creative workshop

We're off to Sydney for a week shortly to spend a few days with some of the most amazing and creative people in our industry. Our accreditation with the  AVPA has enabled us to get on board for a week's workshopping with the most influential Wedding Film makers both here in Australia and overseas. We'll be working with Santo from Papercranes (www.papercranes.com.au), Dave from DnM (www.dnmweddingfilms.com.au) and Abraham Joffe from (www.abrahamjoffe.com.au), all from Sydney and Matt Ebezezer from Qld,  last year voted by Event DV magazine as one the world's top 25 most influential Weddingfilm makers (www.shadowplay.com.au). We're also privileged to have  the amazing Patrick and Konrad heading over from Canada, probably the hottest wedding filmakers in the world right now with their Stillmotion brand (http://stillmotion.ca/site). It will be an amazing week and should enable us to raise the bar for Canberra Wedding Films even higher.

25/01/10 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US :)

Yaay :)   January 26th 1996 saw our first Canberra wedding and congratulations to Steph and Andrew on your 13th Wedding Anniversary!  It was a special day for us and even now as we start our 14th year in this industry we still get excited about filming our couple's day.  It's the most amazing way to earn a living and I hope that has shown through in our work for the last 13 years,  we've never been  a "churn 'em out" operation and every video has been put together with with attention to detail and care to deliver something every one of our clients will treasure.  We must have been doing something right as we've done minimal advertising for the last 10 years  relying on word of mouth and recommendations from other Vendors.

It's an exciting time for the industry and as we bring a new style of wedding film to the Canberra market this year we look forward to another 13 years in the business doing it the right way, the professional way offering Canberra couples reliability and stylish creativity. We hope to see you in the year ahead.

18/01/10 Industry Cowboys and the AVPA

Two phone calls recently came in either side of the Christmas Holidays, one was a Bride asking if we could possibly do her wedding at short notice as her "videoman has decided he's not doing videos any more" and the second call was another Bride trying to find a replacement Videographer as her  " Videoman has just called to say his camera has broken".  In both cases we helped the girls  as best we could but it reinforced the need to go with a reputable Video Producer, one who will operate to a industry code of conduct to ensure they never cancel a booking and who will always as a minimum carry 2 spare sets of equipment.   Just as most good Wedding photographers are members of the AIPP so most reputable Wedding Videographers are members of the AVPA (Australian Video Producers Association) . We are proud at Everclear to be the only Canberra Video producers accredited for Wedding Video production, a tough assesment with only a 45% pass rate. You can check if a Video producer is accredited  by going to http://www.avpa.com.au and following the links under Accreditation.

05/01/10  Getting married in March?

Many thanks to the people who contacted us in reply to this item. We now have a Bridal Couple to work with on this project.

30/12/09 Looking forward to 2010

It's Christmas time again and we're left wondering where 2009 went to! It was a blur of activity with several new ideas and initiatives undertaken which leave us eagerly looking forward to 2010.  I would sincerely like to wish all our 2009 wedding clients all the best for their future together and for those we are working with in 2010 I hope we enjoy sharing your day with you as much as we enjoyed being with our 2009 couples. I hope everyone we've worked with, both clients and industry colleagues  has a very enjoyable Christmas and New Year. We'll see you in 2010. :)

20/12/09   Congratulations!

Congratulations to Mark & Nicole whose wedding we filmed a couple of years ago. Baby daughter Elise made her entry into the world at 2am on the 3rd December and Mum and Bub are doing well. Congratulation Guys!

26/11/09   A Date for the Diary - May 16th 2010

We're on board with the new Canberra Wedding Fair being held at the AIS next year on May16. This promises to set new standards for both Vendors and Bridal couples  in Canberra and will  rival any of the big Sydney Shows. More importantly it benefits local Businesses with the emphasis being on Canberra and for Canberra. This will be our first Wedding Fair for 10 years having always relied on word of mouth for all our client enquiries but this is something we strongly want to be associated with from the outset.
